Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

You had one job.......

You had one job......

Come up with a style shirt and color for front line workers that makes sense

Develop a business 360 system that actually works and isn’t an embarrassment

Design a commission pay plan that actually gets reps excited about what they are selling

Design a scheduling system that makes it easy to check what I’m working , punch in and out for work and request time off.

You had one Job and failed miserably. Feel free to add to this

Just spoke with upper management tonight in the grocery store that I used to work with prior to restructuring... it was said that the meetings just attended were communicating how incredible vz is doing and the board is very pleased, and are trying to get the government to fund and drive 5g deployment nationwide with their tax dollars... nationalizing 5g which gives the feds, specifically homeland security control of the communication network just like it used to and still does with verizon telco... why do you think during the strikes if the union workers are out too long the government steps in and all is resolve in 4 days, you wont be seeing any more strikes either, the dont have the eggs... just work and do as your told like the post office and you'll keep your job or be moved to another...

Upper Management: Disembodied idea machines with little to no accountability.

Middle Management: Bloat that fears for their jobs and does what upper management says.

Store Managers: Afraid of store closings, does what middle managers say.

Solution Manager: Vein of the store.

Rep: The people who actually do the work.

The company has no direction !! Are we 1:1 ratio? Are we appointment only? Are we on demand? What the hell are we? And you ask 10 people these questions and you'll get 10 different answers... why is that?

When will DM’s and above realize that you may have 1 person besides managers that actually give a c-ap and actually try to sell?

Why is everyone showing hate for this post? It is true, the systems s—. Biz 360 is horrible. Verizon has lost its ability to be cutting edge

What gets me is I understand that systems have always been an issue.....BUT with everything we have to deal with now in this COVID times I wish there was more emphasis on getting these systems right.

The whole idea is to limit how much time any given customer spends in our store reducing our risk and theirs. They should be removing obstacles not adding. Maybe shelf the whole b360 until we get pass this current state of the business for example.

I obviously don’t have any data to back this up but I don’t recall having near this many system issues pre covid. Maybe if upper management would fight for better systems like they do for ard and tmp maybe they wouldn’t s— as bad.

Talk about employee experience....what’s the experience for an employee if one has to fight systems on top of COVID precautions, what’s the experience if a rep wants a certain day off but shift swap isn’t available... I have to use vacation time to see my doctor....what’s the experience if you bust your a– to hit sales commission only to get a survey out of your control with a detractor hurting you more then a promoter helps you.

seriously, i used to have so much pride in Verizon. We simply stopped standing for quality. The above list is difficult. All change is difficult. But it feels like we are managed like numbers on a spread sheet. Our systems and tools just make our work harder and makes us lose credibility with the customer. Maybe there is a plan to improve. If so tell us. Give us something to look forward to and help restore some hope.
