As a beneficiary of the last layoff, the world is so much better outside the company. As dysfunctional you may think the company is, you will never understand the severity of it until you step away for a few months.
People always ask me “what do you on a typical day, aren’t you bored?” I just laugh and tell them I do everything I need to do and anything I want to do. My stress level is 5% of what is was when I was working.
My point is, no one should fear a layoff because for most, it is a glorious opportunity that may not come around to often in a career!

Pioneer can be run with 1200 people total. They left again a lot of fat uncut.
6 months down the road
Once DP realizes that he has removed all the people he threw under the bus for old blunders, hell have to start making a new list of people to throw under the bus. Geology list should be populated by Halloween. Very efficient. Unjustifiable arrogance ftw.
Oil stays at $40, it would not be pioneer letting all of us go.
