Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Job being automated

7 out of 75 were laid off on my team in the last wave. Parts of my job have slowly been automated over the past 3 years. Is the writing on the wall for the rest of the team? Should I leave if I get another job offer even if the pay/benefits are less or wait to be laid off?

The severance is so little it was a joke. also we dont have health care. It can be hundreds- thousands a month. Who has that????? Why is health care tied in with employment???? Connect the dots.

Here what you're saying. Stay and let them can you, don't leave on your accord. However, in our experience, It does not matter if you 'leave' before they 'lay you off'. Was there 13 years, and got nothing. They laid a bunch of off and we got nothing. That's our reality. The Friday afternoon call, the cardboard box, the 12$ security guard hovering over us, and 30min to pack up. That's reality. And go out and "vote"

Get your severance, the company would rather you leave then them pay you anymore. Literally wait till they take the laptop away before you leave for a new job.
Seen to many find a job and on their last day the company says they are not laying you off yet.... Then you get nothing because YOU left.

Why aren't here any protections for employees in the US empire? The owners/corporations have all the power. Good luck, on the SS titanic optum

How long have you been with the company?

Take a look at the severance package, determine your amount you would get, then decide if the misery of waiting to be laid off is worth it.

If you choose to work as an employee in the states, be prepared for a lifetime of misery, or at the least, one long emergency
