Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Many many negative posts about the "CX Queen"

I've seen alot of negative posts about the "CX Queen" such as "most overpaid woman in tech" amongst many others. What am I missing historically?

She destroyed Premier at Microsoft and is working to destroy Cisco. She would even brag about causing company's to fail, taking her check, and running.

To answer the question about the 'CX Queen', I think employees begrudge her because of her very lucrative compensation package ($14M+ in 2019, $19M+ in 2018), the fact that the company paid her (and the Sales Queen) a HUGE sign-on bonus to join Cisco and shortly after coming onboard she slashed many jobs in CX, as she has just recently done w/ this latest LR. And to add salt to the wound, when we see her on the check-ins, she's clearly living lavishly around Monterey Bay (where we could only wish to live).

I just took the ER so I'll be observing Maria's results from a distance. I believe she ticks all the boxes. Highly disruptive, Woman in IT, LGBTQ+, Latina... So much scrutiny on her she cannot fail.
Can't blame her though for trying to transform Cisco to keep up with the industry trends (at least someone is trying!), even though some decisions make her very unpopular as we can see on this forum.
She was hired to transform Cisco, not just CX. Time will tell, wishing her and Cisco well, it's a tough environment out there, and repetitive cuts make it even more hostile.

There's more culture in yoghurt than there is in cisco, and it's been that way for a very long time. 2002-2003 was the end of what cisco was. You get that when you hire management from HP, IBM, etc.

It is quite wonderful you are going around visiting neighbors during a pandemic and being able to talk about how unhappy they are at work. BS.

Really. You're not much of a neighbor, then. Before the pandemic, I talked w/ my neighbors all the time but we didn't get all that close. Lawn chairs out on the drive way over a beer or two. Or a conversation over the the fence while playing with our dogs.

Now that I'm in an apartment, I don't know my neighbors very well, but I still say "Hi" in the parking lot w/ a car between us. Some of them talk about having to find new jobs and others talk about taking on second jobs because they can't get enough hours at either job to make a full time paycheck. Others talk about how hard it is to work from home with the upstairs kids home all day now running on their roof. Wait, that last statement is my part of the conversation. :-)

When I run into them nowadays, no one... no one... seems happy

What’s all the beef about the ELT? They are going through a really difficult bout. Do you have any idea what it’s like trying to buy your 5th country home on-line without knowing if the 8 car garage is adequate for your collection of high end Italian sports cars? Do you know how difficult it is shopping for haute couture only to be asked to show up to a company all hands wearing a cardigan? Have you a clue what it’s like to make a snap decision that affects thousands of lives so you don’t miss your golf tee time? Come on folks, have a heart. Times are tough.

Chuck robbins and his ELT k–led the old cisco culture and cisco as a company. He needs to be fired along with his ELT.

I'm on the outside now. LR'd 2017. Have many close neighbors there. When I run into them nowadays, no one... no one... seems happy. At all. Misery. Wow.

Wth is going on there? Looking outside in, and talking with good friends still riding it out... they honestly seem miserable.

Sad. Old Cisco culture seems to be gone.

The leader of customer experience was hired to dramatically cut costs. Layoffs, outsourcing, and complete chaos in CX. Feels more like HP, Sun, or Nortel.
