Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Is anyone surprised?

Hertz filled the leaderships ranks with people with no industry experience. None. Every Single top and mid level position, zero industry experience. And did this for the better part of last 7 years. And told us the way to run car rental was with people with airline experience, retail experience, etc. What arrogance. Is anyone surprised? Look at you now. One hot mess.

Couldn't agree more, @5rdj+17kowEk3.

Agree 1000% with the last post. No structure to support leaders and all promotions are a reflection of how agreeable one is to bad ideas.

The lack of industry experience is not that big of any issue. It is sometimes good to bring leadership in that has a different outlook since they have no experience. The issue lies in where the put their trust in the wrong people and listen to those who are clueless. They trsut them and allow them to promote people not based on merit but pure favoritism. I can't count how many time I have seen a promotion announcement and everyone is like are you kidding me. Just look at the RVP ranks now none of them are qualified to be in any leaderhsip role. That is what had detroyed the company.
