"OD is not a "value add" to Oracle, and has never been for as long as I can remember. As far as I'm concerned, the more OD reps that are fired, the better"
I agree. I blame BDC org for pitching "you don't need to know product" and "it's a numbers game" as the only training and then promoting them based on based on broken metrics. Result is a bunch of bozos who have no idea how to progress deals. And generally speaking, the OD org does s—, but I do believe it should exist, albeit in a much overhauled fashion. I've never worked with a good OD rep, and purposely leave them out of deals as they just make things worse, not better. Also, the managers and directors who have been at Oracle for 6+ years and haven't sold anything since 2014 or before, should really be evaluated as a value add. If they have never sold cloud, they can't really teach people how to. Most of them were reps when we were the only option for HW and licensing and never had to understand wtf a workload even was.
What do you do?
