Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Leadership and Development

There is no coverage as it is on our floors meanwhile we are being asked to make time for leadership and development... can some one tell me when is there time for that ?? How is each of you managing this ??

My store manager holds "leadership" meetings that last 2 to 3 hours. She won't let managers do interviews for a half hour (keeping interviewees waiting up to an hour) bc of our coverage, but her taking them off the floor for over two hours is fine.

Develop yourselves please even doing classes as one poster suggests. After a decade and seeing the writing on the wall college was the best choice. Was a major sacrifice but OMG was it worth it. After a while people are thrown in the reject heap. Remember, develop and empower yourselves.

You own your development. Make the time, even if you need to do it at home.

Even when there was staffing...there was still no leadership or development...so really no change in that respect.

well for the development side i would polish up your resume and take some online courses in a cushy desk job... for the next part... there was never any leadership at big ole dump M
