Dealing with mobbing

“I know of a former Fiserv employee who was paid for being at Fiserv for half a year. I can't say he was paid for half a year of work because he was never assigned any thing to do. He just sat in his cube and watched videos for eight hours a day. He would ask for work, but he would never get assigned any. He wasn't laid off or fired, he quit because it was a waste of his time. Later his boss, the person who never gave him anything to do, was promoted. It really helps team morale when you see someone every day who never does anything.”

Interesting (but sad) to hear that someone is facing “empty desk syndrome” here because I’m always overwhelmed with tasks and feel burned out. This company made it so easy to leave and I wonder if it would be worth at all to stay and try dealing with the obvious mobbing.

That’s fiserv. The 10% of top talent gets ran into the ground. The rest take long walks with significant others and do orange theory or early morning swims
