I know people whose locations are closing will know by November 5 they are affected, but what about the rest of us? We know layoffs will be much wider - will it all be done on that date or will we have to wait longer to find out? I seriously doubt we'll know before them, as much as I can hope...

I talked to some people close to the situation and they informed me that Car Sales is looking to make a return in 2021.
S—s that it won’t come back. At least severance pay will be reportedly capped at 13k.
You're beating a dead horse, we know it's not coming back.
Bad news guys, car sales ain’t coming back.
It sounds like car sales will come back, every article states temporarily closing.
But odd they didn’t just furlough everyone
I just go sent home and was told not to claim unemployment said of yet
Kickback for all the hard work, will be the massive severance packages
When do you guys think car sales will return? Hopefully soon
Stop the negativity. We are in a V shaped recovery. This is just temporary
Are presidents and leaders won’t let us fail. Stay positive people
Agreed, that car sales will Not return to Hertz anytime in the next 5 hrs.
Our economy is headed for disaster and possibly another Covid lockdown sometime in Nov/Dec. which will eventually doom Hertz and many other company’s.
People need to stop acting like car sales will return to Hertz. It is over and done with permanently, no maybe about it.
Well if they planned on returning. Why not furlough?
Why a total shut down.
So sounds like it’s 50/50 if car sales will return.
I can assume that everyone involved with get a severance package? This is a plant closing/ mass lay off
Hertz is an embarrassment - you're not some mom and pop car dealer. You're a GLOBAL CORPORATION. NO EXCUSES.
Because Hertz sold all that they can, even potentially oversold. What are you not comprehending???
- and this is why Hertz is doomed. What kind of a dealership has no cars to sell? Pathetic.
On that basis a rental company that has no business should just close down.
Hang on... I think I have a suggestion for you guys. CLOSE DOWN.
Love, Enterprise.
Imagine you run a dealership, and you have no inventory to sell, zero! You know that in 3 months you will have cars to sell but you won’t have a single thing until then. You pay the bills every month to keep the lights on with no revenue coming in (burning cash) would you continue to keep your dealership open?
If you would, that’s just insane.
I know peoples jobs are at stake for it and many people are pay check to pay check, but if there’s no cars to sell, car sales can not be open.
Can’t take it personally, I’m sure the local agencies are hiring and looking for any kind of help possibly.
You try to temporary survive without a salary. If you combined head and d–k in the right order, you would have a factual description of yourself.
Get the facts straight please. We sold the number of cars that were mandated by the ch11 process. Every airport has all cars utilized and there’s no future plan of deletions until we refresh the fleet.
Why keep sales cars open if we don’t intend to sell anything until 2021?
It’s a temporary closure, not permanent.
Just saw this
https://www.radio.com/wbt/news/national/hertz-to-shut-down-car-sales-locations-nationwide
Are signs and websites for car sales says temporary close.
There is also an news article stating that car sales is temporarily closing. Not sure what that means. But that’s what it says
Today I drove by Hertz Car Sales and there was a sign that said "Permanently Shut Down"
Why is everything say temporarily shutting down car sales?
They will definitely NOT be bringing car sales back.
Don’t worry car sales will be back shortly.
It’s over. Car sales is done for good
This is going to sit really well with the front line staff. Paul and team getting very desperate and paying off the top GM's to keep them pushing the propoganda that all is well. He needs them spreading the word that the ledership team has it all under control. But we all know the chaos going on behind he scenes.
All locations are closing. Not just some, all. Corporate is laying off everyone we just don’t know a date.
me too. not the harvey weinstein type, but it does feel like getting this bonus is rap ing the people that really do the work. gotta love corporate america.
Just found out I'm getting another retention bonus. I asked about the frontline Etc. and was told only GM top50 and above. Sorry I tried, but hay I got another 50k coming, so I am happy.
Probably not.
But you should feel reassured as 300 lucky managers will share 8.2 million bonus.
Ain't that cool?
