Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

So Vena is leaving and Unified Plan 2020 was a complete bust

Not only did they not meet the goals of unified 2020, but they are now listed as the worst company to work for in America. They’ve also run a lot of customers off. So when should we expect the apology tour to start?

They made money. It’s insider trading done legally. So the operating cost goal was never met those in the loop made a lot of loot. It doesn’t matter to them that people suffered because of it.

The UP apologists have arrived everyone. They make apologies on behalf of UP before the official apology tour.

We all live on earth just like you, but you're not seeing the bigger picture. Do you really think businesses need the UP? Theres this theory called evolution. When the UP runs off business or denies business to smaller companies, then evolution kicks in. Businesses don't need the UP. The UP needs the businesses or they will cease to exist. Businesses that are denied rail service, will evolve their business to meet their shipping needs. When the class 1's finally wake up and walk away from this PSR nightmare, they will then realize the damage that was caused. Businesses will have found other ways to move their product via truck or other means. The UP and other class 1's will have a difficult time getting customers back, because they can move their goods efficiently without the rail service headaches. Think about it for a minute. Whether or not there's ever an apology tour is irrelevant now. The damage is done, and they don't seem too interested in trying to fix the damage. They're convinced PSR is working, when it's clearly not.

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the job market and what type of jobs they are hiring for. No matter how much a company s—s there are always those that will work there thinking it will get better.

Oh they will need to hire again one day and I’m afraid they will have a extremely hard time filling all open positions in the future. Companies that treat employees poorly usually don’t retain the best and brightest.

Apology tour? Ha! What planet do you live on? Do you really expect this? The execs and board will never admit to any type of failure. As for PSR being a failure, the juries still out on that one. This concept has been implemented by most class1’s and UP shows no signs of backing away. As long as the operating ratio is relatively low and the stock price is high, they will declare victory. The execs, board, and majority stockholders do not care one bit about Glassdoor ratings, customers, or employees. This company is not run as a family operation where every is valued and appreciated, rather it is ran as a cold, calculating business where employees are a necessary evil and a liability to be gotten rid of at the first opportunity. This goes for both agreement and non-agreement. We are all in this together and all our job are in danger of going away.
