First of all, it s—s that this is not the first time Allstate has laid off people during the holidays. My heart goes out to all of you experiencing it. I have been laid off before (not by Allstate) and if was a great experience even with the job loss. Allstate has not handled this well from the beginning.
Secondly, if you think they no longer care about you because they let you go.....they may have done you a favor. The workload was already crazy before the layoffs....now it would push a normal person to wonder if they every had a brain to begin with. The workload is s–c-dal. Reports of mental health, physical health, not sleeping, turning to exorbitant amounts of alcohol to relax on the weekends just so adjuster's can let go of their desk and workload for a night. I am not sure how long Allstate thinks that adjusters can last at this level. I am extremely organized and there is no keeping up anymore. As each day passes I get further behind in my work. I figure it will be about another month before it catches up and completely envelops me and my coworkers and we end up with a boatload of bad faith cases. Quality is already diminishing, mistakes of omission are already occurring due to stress levels and brain capacity (we are only human), and the errors are costing us a lot of money.
On top of that, you kept some of the s—iest (my word) and c-appiest adjusters and processors to carry on the Legacy of this company. What a completely an utter failure of a major corporation that has constantly used Blockbuster as an example of what happens when you think you are too big to fail.
I have been a part of a lot of failing companies, but this is biggest c-ap show I have ever been a part of. The entire process has made me angry at Allstate for treating people with such disregard for their emotional and physical well being. The worst part is that home office appears to be completely in the dark that this is the general consensus among the employees left behind.
