Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Decimating the company

The problem is Chris Levendos. His track record is mediocre at best. He just decimated fiber operations by laying off all the experienced managers. He thinks he can create a hybrid technician. The problem is that technicians gravitated to their chosen career over time. Cell techs and fiber techs are not interchangeable. Just as he could clean the toilets at the office, but has chosen a different career. The good technicians that are left; will leave. The Crown Castle customers will change to a better company, as the maintenance will suffer tremendously. The NOC will continue to be a call enter at best.
In the end, they needed to reach a dollar figure. Instead of making sound decisions, they chose personal with the higher salary figures to reach their goal as quickly as possible. No thought went into this process.

Chris Lavendos continues to blaze his trail of destruction from Google to Frontier now to Crown Castle. Apparently he has a lot of supporters on the EMT as well as the board. In their eyes he can do no wrong. Crown has been on a downward spiral ever since his hiring. Questions should be asked of the EMT and Laura Nichol as to where was the due diligence in conducting his background check.

He has sidelined Jim Young and has basically been running SCN into the ground and with the latest round of layoffs all leadership positions are fiber folks who have no idea how to stand up and run a small cell network.

The EMT is nowhere is the picture and have buried their heads in sand, hoping that this issue will resolve itself. The EMT can neither see nor hear anything bad against CL as if he is some holy cow who can do no wrong.

The question now becomes will it be Jay Brown firing CL in a couple of years or will will CL be the cause of JB being shown the door by the board.

Ben Mooreland might be regretting the decision to give the reins to JB.

Remember Levendos history with Google fiber, he was kicked out because couldn't handled, looks like is following the same path with CCI

So many problems at Crown stem from this exact thing. It doesn’t matter his track record or qualifications, because CL is where he is because he has the right people on his side. Friends in high places... You’d be surprised where you can end up when you have people like LN in your back pocket and you’re in hers.

No thought went into scn from the start. Or too much. Tower runs like a clock and never mirrored in any way. Worst thing ever came was with the original b u license combo being changed.. Them not wanting to pay Oracle an extra 200k a year screwed it all. They spend 100s of millions of dollars a year managing the cluster that is scn that anyone with common sense could fix. The problem with the organic business model in this case is a complete cluster f—. I'd save them 100s of millions every year but I'm not related to any one so there's that.

Levendos is just straight up not an intelligent person...trail of destruction follows him see google fiber or frontier...

Talks a big game and speaks of a plan but not enough insight or foresight to get there if everyone is being honest

Couldn't agree more. Destroyed the group in CT and NJ letting go of techs, senior techs and management of the groups. These markets were already extremely busy. Now they have the same amount of work less techs, senior techs and management. Also cut some fantastic Tier 3 data and engineers who had knowledge of gear that no one else had. Good luck making those numbers now.
