Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Shop Integrity

One thing I notice after working Macy’s sweat shop is. Lp leaves money out on register or valuables in stock room to see if you would take it. Examples: they thought a coworkers was stealing so they put $5 under the register to see if this person would take it. It sat there for months till I called a manager to take notice to it. They did this with a $50 bill also. They leave headphones, sunglasses, money , jewelry you name it in stock rooms to see if you take it. My point is this is clearly a form of profiling which Macy’s got sued for in the past so why keep it up ? You got cameras everywhere just rewind it and look. So be careful since M is dirty and want to get rid of people

No, the AP post is correct.

The 'money' you may see or find completely under a terminal, or on top the cash drawer but under the terminal is part of a transaction where the funds didn't make it into the cash drawer for whatever reason. Complete terminal sweeps (taking everything apart) are completed ( in particular looking for checks) and the amount of paper money, coins and everything else in and around terminals is unbelievable. Even under keyboards money has been found.

Actually why be so upset anyway? Simply do not take things that don't belong to you.

To the lp who posted below. You are dead wrong. My store puts out money under registers all the time. It’s a shady practice from a dirty company!

Former AP here. That is a really old practice that has not been allowed in many years. There is enough identifiable employee theft in stores without having to bait people. Just look at the shoplift activity and understand that internal/employee theft is worse, so there really is no need to bait. Of course there are cameras in stockrooms and plenty of coworkers still stash items in stockrooms to take and eventually get caught for it.

Lolololol we don't even have AP! And dummy cameras all over the store... while "customers" walk out with giant bags stuffed with Tommy, Polo, Adidas, and Nike.

Former LP here. Internal theft far outweighs external theft. So yes the company always valued employee theft over shoplifters. Yes "integrity shops" or baiting is done but there's very specific guidelines, it has to have higherup approval which they won't give unless you have a good enough reason to believe the person is dishonest. We mostly only did it during the holiday season, so is it profiling against the seasonals? Maybe. But is it entrapment? Nope. Unless someone on the LP team tells the employee hey just take the money it's no big deal, then books 'em when they take it, they're responsible for their own actions.

sounds like entrapment to me, it should be investigated, don't you agree?

Other dirty tricks they do is have a “ customer “ come and leave behind a credit card or a gift card to see if you take. At my store they would rigged few times a week with fake shoppers. If they really wanna get you gone they email in fake complaints that your rude and racist or said something about them. They also steal stuff out of your dept then try to blame you for it. Meanwhile it’s piled up in ops/lp office. This went on with iPods in my dept that went missing. You can track then via the chip inside. You can also get apple to locate it an or turn it off so it becomes a useless brick. Lp never did it. They would take the battery out and say it was stolen make a case for someone they wanted gone who was innocent then they would ask corporate for newer gear. It was a scam to get newer gear to run store better. They would also call up your sept phone and pretend to be a customer then email a complaint in . The cameras in the store have no sound it only records visuals. Most stock room have snake cameras that are coming out of tiny holes. You can barley see them. Lp is a dirty bunch but the ops is the dirtiest

All while others are walking out the front door with thousands of dollars of merchandise and they do nothing! Must be more lucrative to catch hard working employees who get paid less than minimum wage!
