I was notified out of the blue that hundreds of positions are being "restructured". Carol Tome is acting like a greedy money-grubber: Get hired to make more profit, fire people, and slash jobs. Then, while the victim is still alive but bleeding badly, take the money and run.
Many jobs have already been sent to 2nd- and 3rd world countries at 25-50% the labor cost, but it seems those people also have half the drive to do the job well, or to even stay long enough to make it worthwhile to train them.
You all left out she is tied to a nice bonus for performance! Must be nice to sc--w people you don’t know

People are the best resource for UPS. That is such an outright lie! You, and EVERY OTHER upper management, should be required to talk to at least 90% of the people you laid off. It really ki---d me when my manager had to talk to me about your plan to destroy people's lives. I could hear it in her voice. But, that's okay. You caught your precious stock price up.
In my case, I was planning on retiring just 9 months after you screwed me and 1800 UPSers. 9 months! Now, it looks like it will be at least another year before I can retire, assuming I can find a job.

Oh, one more thing. UPS is an AMERICAN company! Why the he-l are you sending AMERICAN jobs to third rate counties like India and Costa Rica. Oh, yea, that's right - you can pay them HALF of the American salary and get more work. Carol, you really should be ashamed!
All Union Employees have to take a stand when the Contract is up. Especially for Part Time Package Handlers, Min. Wage is no longer cutting it and a fair wage needs to be implemented based on all shift workloads and not having Supervisors taking work away from us. We need to work together and get a fair Hourly wage increase! United Together as one!
I think Mrs. Tome has made some good changes there is still more to do
She has had to correct mistakes made by previous upper management . Like get rid of UPS frieght. Remember she does have to answer to shareowners. She does need to complete transformation 3 by offering operational employees a buyout.
You know this is so sad to watch people I "grew up" with at UPS - BD, TSG lose their livelihood and post-UPS plans just because a greedy G-dless board hired a greedy. G-dless,

This is the playbook of Carol Tome’. She did the same thing to the poor employees when she was CFO of Home Depot. Cut jobs, cut quality but raise profits and the share price for investors . Throw away your Policy Book people. She is not a UPSer. Just an opportunist. Jim Casey and his legacy are dead.
After 9 years at ups as package data supervisor I was told my position was being eliminated and essentially being outsourced. Took the severance and no longer wanted to work for a company that doesn't respect loyalty, experience and hard work. Pay men employees more than females. FACT Environment at ups is changing and not for the best. Ups no longer cares about the quality of service to their customers. It's ALL about profit to shareholders screwing customers and nothing for thier employees.
What group in SF East Bay Area? Is it the hub? I have a friend who works there. Seems a lot of jobs are really are eliminated due to automation and outsourcing.
Layoffs in the SF East Bay Area. Why? Because UPS wants to be "Better, Not Bigger". That's BS. Jobs are being sent to third world counties like India and Costa Rica because they work for slave wages there.
My friend that works for UPS in St Louis said all employees were given notice, without explanation that they will all loose their jobs on March 31st 2021
Enterprise Account Executives and Enterprise Area Sales Managers received 30 day notice today.
I've heard from several districts saying they are laying off pt supervisors and specialists in the support functions. No explanation as to why, given volume and profits are still at record levels.
UPS Freight has just been sold for 800 million what happens to those employees do they come take jobs from UPS regular employees
Looks like it happened here in California. No work for the remaining 2020 peak season. Last year it happened in Jan. Makes sense they are laying off full time personnel and will cut all seasonal. In September and October, same thing happened for summer peak season from July to September.
Ups laid off seasonal delivery drivers on Christmas Eve 3 weeks earlier than promised due to a union dispute.
