Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

There is plenty to be thankful for

Be thankful you have your family

Be thankful you have your health

Be thankful you’ve been paid well and saved for a rainy day

Exxon is not doing this to spite us, the whole world is going though this and many companies are laying off.

Even if I do get laid off, I will not take it personally and will not blame the company. They’ve got to do what they’ve got to do to survive.

We need to do the same. And stop moping.

I couldn't have said it better. Kudos to @ypf+185xuiqF, we need more posts like this here and fewer doom and gloom outlooks.

"Exxon is not doing this to spite us" Fact checkers say not 100% true and not 100% false. A shade of gray. While the corporation doesn't have feelings like spite they definitely have shown us what their priorities and core values are. Remember Rex's talk after Macondo about safety not being a priority because priorities change and it needs to be a value? We can all dismiss any illusion we had of our people being our most valuable assett being a value. Clearly our value is our shareholders are our most valuable assett. Fitting I suppose considering how many shares our management holds. #OneHandWashesTheOther

The world is actually growing, but Exxon is not even learning how to grow...

@OP+186LEBs6, I think you forgot one statement, thanks that I am breathing. Before we were EM, today we are the worst enemy of the company.

I mean you're not wrong, but it's a layoff board, bro. People get pretty gloomy when talking about layoffs and that is ok. Venting on an anonymous forum with colleagues can be a healthy way to let off stress and emotion. It's an appropriate alternative to actually expressing all of this in the workplace and saying something you probably shouldn't in front of your boss. Although, I can applaud those who have the gumption to speak freely about their frustrations with leadership.
