Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

We will get through this period together

F&L leader sent an email today about the Canada study. The email ends in (you guessed it!) - “ we will get through this period together”.
Are our company leaders (using that term loosely) id–ts? Here in the US, the severance package is pathetic compared to our competitors. The LT makes millions while the laid off workers will struggle to make ends meet. They should stop making this hollow statement - “we will get through this period together”.

They didn’t even bother to get a pay cut.. like useless Darren Woods.. keeping silent and destroying the balance sheet while he gets his sweet dividends

No details shared. I think they’re being secretive so they can screw over those severed one last time.

Let’s not make it America vs the world.
At the end of the day, “we” is execs, managers, supervisors and a chosen few.

Is everyone missing that they are being 100% honest using the word "we"? We are the id–ts for thinking we includes us. Reality is that "we" means people that are not what they have decided are over paid Americans (you and I) they can replace us with lower paid people in India, Singapore and other countries. We includes them not us or "we".

Not sure which one is more deceitful:
“We are in this together”, or
“We’ll emerge stronger”.

Neither is true. One is insulting and the other offensive. The reality is managers will save their backs, and the cut will make those renaming weak. The culture has taken an irreparable hit as trust eroded. And the portfolio remains the same bag of overpriced garbage.

More cuts will come as the Titanic sinks under the weight of mismanagement and lies.

That phrase is one of the talking points from Dallas. Intended to make the company seem genuine and caring. Of course, it is actually tone deaf BS and logically the “we” can only mean “me and those of you who will not soon be fired.” The words mean nothing to the speaker as he or she is only going through the motions.

Lots of crocodile tears today from Canada Study presenters. All clearly not genuine but best they could muster I suppose as they are not trained actors. Was stated Canada severance roughly 3x USA. One presenter though went way farther than others who dodged most questions, he stated this is only what could be executed immediately, a much larger layoff will occur in “the spring” when organization restructure and TMTS will start to implement based on planning going on now regarding these items toward future efficiency.
