Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

How much do unhappy workers cost?

Sometimes it is not clear to me how companies benefit from having dissatisfied workers. Theoretically - dissatisfied workers are expensive workers that are not worth having in the company and in essence, it is much more profitable to have satisfied workers whose work and commitment are adequately valued. Still, Allstate seems to go against all these theories perhaps thinking that something to the contrary will be proven, such as that companies with management like ours have a bright future.

All true. The example above is only a fraction of the reality. We are now ‘training’ our adjusters to buy surveys. The majority of their assessment comes from CLF so why would they worry as much about quality ... sad but true.
Senior leaders with little or no claims experience are truly showing how detached from reality they are.

Wel if an adjuster overpays a claim by $100 (whether due to apathy, rushing, etc). 6 claims a day is $600, 5 days a week is $3000, 4 weeks a month is 12,000, 12 months in a year is $144,000. It also works the other way, if an adjust can save the company $100/claim then they just paid for their salary and then some. Of course none of this matters to Allstate though, back to the salt mine and you best crank out the most claims possible

The arrogance of the leadership @ Allstate no longer values human intelligence or integrity. Moving to make claim settlement into a robotic task driven operation. Black or white outcomes with no room for exceptions. So out of touch with the real world we all live in day to day. I'm sure the Ivory tower s— ups would love to automate the entire process, remove all humanity from claim settlement, no more interpersonal contact with policy holders. Reshaping the once great Allstate that once felt like a hometown family operation into another clone that resembles all other competition. How innovative of leadership to transform and grow Allstate by making them look like everyone else. Losing the trust of your workers will be your downfall.
