Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Going away

At scx, machinist have been told they're losing jobs they have been doing for years and they're going to be done by electricians starting today. This after just losing 6 machinist to furlough. Looks like they're setting up to get rid of more in 2021.

Hey....Great idea Rangers...let's fight against ourselves. No wonder we can't get anything accomplished as Agreement guys. We should all be on the same side during these BS times with this garbage company.

The electricians don't need to be trained. We can do what the machinist do before break time. Get down to the shop and change a traction motor.

Maybe everyone should go for a lawsuit against district president Mike Perry for not doing his job because he doesn't care he has less then a year to go before he retires so his paycheck is ok

If any of the machinist help train the electricians at dispatch then they're no better than the union who is letting this happen.

We all should have gone on strike before PSR crossed the border, its too late now!

Unions ain’t what they used to be (except for taking your dues of course) Union leaders could call for a strike , and they will just tell you no we can’t we’ll that’s B S . The truth is none of them are willing to go to jail for their brothers and sisters and have heard so . But they have no problem with their 6 figure incomes. So good luck to everyone , won’t be long before Ns will be bringing in truck loads of illegals to do the jobs that are left . Why ? Because they can says our union reps.
Good news is not many are going south to cross the border , but Mexico isn’t so generous and their jails s—.

I hope electricians know how to change brake shoes alot better than fixing kgr's and nlp's.

Maybe if they would have done their job instead of sitting in the office on their phone, making coffee, and calling for an electrician to change light bulbs the jobs would still be there.

In the words of our former union rep...The company has the right. I’d like to know when our rights kick in...

Guess the union is going to their best and tell us there's nothing that they can do to stop it. Here's a great idea, for every machinist we lose, they lose 1 dollar of the dues they charge.
