Has anyone that was IRIF'd the first of December finding extra charges like a company vehicle charge or taxes when they haven't driven the vehicle since they were furloughed or extra medical, dental charges for their final mid December pay check??

So many of you for this and questions about 401ks and things absolutely need to see professionals. I don’t mean to c-ap on everyone here but there’s so much bad advice based on someone’s ignorant reading and you all are dealing with real money and real law and policies. Don’t let someone who skimmed half a page of detail and made a conclusion be your answer. Not saying that about any posts in this thread in particular - but I’ve seen it happen with other topics.
Don’t ignore something here if you can confirm the info included but please, please, at least bring up these issues to a financial advisor/lawyer or even a capable friend if you can - if you’re confused about these sorts of things. It doesn’t say anything about you, these things are designed to confuse anybody and everybody, but just please make sure you involve the right people and don’t only work off of the input here.
I did get the bill in the mail the two months I was out but I didn’t have the money to pay it. So it was deducted from my December paycheck.
If a company was trying to get me to pay for items I didn't owe after laying me off I would tell them to remove the charges or I'll be calling my state's labor board ASAP.
@1akf+18N5Rxdr Interesting they didn't make you pay for benefits for the furlough time. I had a bill each and every month. It was in the mail and on xeroxbenefitsweb. It did say they weren't going to hold you to the day it was due because of the covid situation but it still needed to be paid. I was xerox direct but maybe you were in a different group?
I was told since I didn’t pay my medical and dental premiums while out on furlough they recouped it on the last check. I should have known they were going to do that since my benefits stayed active the entire time.
Didn't have that happen on the company vehicle and maybe because I was on the cheap can't drive it personal plan however I got a full month of December benefits (medical, dental, life insurance etc) charged when it should have only been half the charges for half the month (terminated Dec 15). India HR said that sounded "normal" and all my objections went in one ear and out the other. I may give my manager (ex-manager) a call and see what she can do.
@dlo+18N5Rxdr They did the same thing to me concerning the vehicle. I did it correctly by inputting 1 mile business for each month. They said since I had a HIGH commuting mileage (like seriously?) that all the charges were correct. I backed it in and out of the garage at maybe 1400 feet for 7 months as telematics should have confirmed. I was also on the more expensive plan where I could drive personal if I wanted up to 600 miles but never got that benefit because the commute miles were always above that. End result is I had my ex-manager do what it took to get it back which he did. The way I look at this scenario is Xerox is either hoping you won't notice the amount or figures the amount of time it would take on your part would wear you down to the point that you just give in and let Xerox keep it. Either way it's a schiester move and that is what Xerox has become...so very sad!!!
You can file a complaint with your department of labor. Former employees have had success in getting reimbursed for ineligible deductions, especially in California and New York States that I know of.
I came back from furlough and had crazy charges from my company vehicle. They told me not to do any work for Xerox so I didn't. They were taking half if my paycheck because I didn't log the 7 miles I drove while on furlough. I'm getting out soon.
Can someone please itemize these costs?
Yes on both accounts and told there was nothing that could be done about it. This company has dipped to new lows
