responsibility should land on BG and the acq team, but it isn't BG who made this deal the basis of his entire "strategy" and claimed it to prove worth - JD. makes clear he out of his depth or is phoning it in. either way, bad.

Even better (worse?), Cisco gives a bunch of them RSUs and they do minimal work for years until getting LRed. It is a great business model!
You don't have to worry about them quitting as Cisco will lay them off before week 3 is done.
If Cisco succeed in buying Acacia, what's there to prevent the Acacia employees from quitting Cisco after they become Cisco employees in a month?
