Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

2021 (How Will Things be Different at Intel) - Wishful Thinking or More of the Same

Intel's long history of GOOFBALL decisions didn't begin with the current CEO or the past one who was shamefully discharged after collecting a "golden parachute of a compensation" (which he did not deserve one could argue) or the one prior who led the purchase of McAfee and sale at a loss (another example of failure). When you build a culture that is SO FRIGGIN INSULATED (with people with ZERO merit and experience other than what they learn at Intel...you graduate, you join Intel and then you drink the Intel kool-aid)...and when you squash every dissident or voice that wants to bring about change because you've drunk too much of your own toxic kool-aid and live in a toxic bubble (somehow because you were great in the 60s or 70s...that it will give you a free pass of some sort)...you are DOOMED. I read somewhere on this site that 2020 was a bad year because Intel got kicked in the a– and groin (and rightfully so)...NO...2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016....(must I go on)...were all bad. The decline at INTEL is because of several things (lousy technology, lousy leadership, too insulated to the point of being toxic....AND EVERY EFFORT to acquire companies and turn them into failed acquisitions because of the culture at Intel — is all part of that same morass. There is failure after failure). Good Luck in 2021.

I think Intel may realize it's in the wrong business altogether. They can't manufacture GPUs and CPUs at the cadence with performance benchmarks as others. Their biggest customers (i.e. Microsoft and Apple) are pulling the plug on them. Others will soon follow (just a matter of time). Best part...Apple's chip far exceeds the performance of Intel's c-apshoot technology (what an embarrassment and joke). And they were able to develop in record time. Keep in mind this is not their core business...and inspite of that they kicked Intel's rear end. Turns out these GOOFBALLS can't even make good investment/acquisition decisions. If it were JUST McAfee one could say that it was a random mistake....but McAfee is ONE OF MANY, MANY failed acquisitions. Think about it....how INCOMPETENT do you have to be...to buy a company for nearly $7 BILLION...and sell it for approx. $4 BILLION (that's nearly a $3billion dollar loss....I am rounding numbers here). And that's only one of MANY. I think the Intel Execs should consider signing up for a couple of 101 investment courses (perhaps read a couple of Warren Buffett's books).

Probably the same. Might be time for another layoff according to it's cycle.
