Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

Terrible management

Listen—there is NO reason why Pearson shouldn’t have record sales this year. None, zip, zero.
Declining enrollment doesn’t matter....
Almost every non digital user had to move to a digital product or platform.
There should be a massive windfall....but, there will not be.

The reason is pure and simple: TERRIBLE management.

Perfectly stated, @juh+18NZKPFt.

I agree, when you have leaders like SDB then you can clearly see why your OPM competitors thrive while we struggle and are dwindling.

I'm the last person to defend upper management, but Pearson is not the only publishing company that's struggling to survive. From the McGraw Hill Indeed message board, posted in December:

"McGraw is constantly Laying off people And eliminating departments. And sending the work overseas. You had to train your replacement or you would not receive any severance pay."
