Verizon is now laying off about 500 ppl. I'm one of them. My entire team was let go. Most of the layoffs are coming out of the California area due to the high cost of doing business there. Those useful California id–t legislators up in Sacramento are working 90% of the companies out of California. The due to the high cost of living there, I ended up moving to Texas and taking another job with a better salary.

Heard this from a colleague, but I don’t see any signs of slowing down from a retail standpoint. I know that call centers have been slimming down and have been exchanged with outsourced/third party companies.
