Quite the opposite. I would say most people layed off were on teams that still had steady work. What they will do is find areas where they can reduce headcount and just put more on the remaining employees. Workforce Governance is looking at this all year. Reorgs where duplication is targeted are common place.

My team continues to have plenty of work to do, and I’ve been getting new assignments from my manager. Can lay-offs still happen on a team that has new work coming over? Just curious if none of that matters in the HR or leadership decision making. We keep getting told that with all this new work that we can move on from the past layoffs that have led to poor survey results and low morale.
I haven't heard anything, I'm just worried we're due some soon.
