Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

No one is safe

No one is safe at this company, least of all those that work hard and try to make a difference. They are about cutting costs, everywhere they can, they do not see workers as people, we are numbers. Pretty much that is how it is in most Corp America companies today, people need to stop thinking a company is looking out for them, they are not, they are out for the shareholders and most importantly board of directors.

In this situation, praying the top level leadership Neal and his cronies do not last long at Optum, and hopefully those in charge at Optum see through their nonsense and get rid of them quickly. As for the rest of us, it may be a blessing in disguise as we are now going to be part of a successful Corp America machine and hopefully their will be opportunities for all to make changes, if not, then hopefully layoff packages will at least be a bit better than they have in the past.

Well said, @8bfc+18M4E6aK. Bumped into a post for more visibility.

Be practical: if your at Change do yer homework. Does your job overlap with Optum/UHG? What’s the layoff history of Optum? If your in an area that is redundant and can be eliminated by having existing Optum units quickly scale up, perhaps dustin off yer old resume is a good idea, rather than jus b–chen. Think like the owner: what would you do to make the company more efficient and valuable, which is the job of leadership.

Job “safety” is not something I’d count on in this situation. If your in legal, IT, HR, or other shared service, well having another plan with some money saved up in the bank to tide ya over will be a good idea. Nuf said.
