‘India key to IBM’s pursuit of a $1 trillion hybrid cloud opportunity’

How will the recent ‘corporate split’ unlock additional growth in India, a key geography for IBM
both as a market and as an employee base?

.
We have been present in India for several decades and this partnership will only grow stronger
as India accelerates its digital transformation.

Translating the last sentence: "Prepare for more RAs in the U.S. and Europe with more work being off-shored to India."

And, why were US companies able to offshore pretty much all manufacturing Jobs?

Like colonialists from time immemorial, we need foreign resources AND a place to throw our junk.
Why pollute lake homes or Lake Superior when you can outsource that part to china?

Great news. It means the managers in the USA will not get even more trips to check out the India operations.

Man these are cool gigs. A few trips every year, with some stops over in Goa and ammm Europe or Singapore, life is good.

If you are not one yet, get on the schedule for them foreign meetings.

In the US. IBM only hires Americans if they have to. Like for anything to do with the US Federal Government or DoD contractor. Otherwise everything else gets off shored to India and other places.
To be clear I have no ill feelings toward India or China or anywhere else US companies decide to go to for labor that is much less expensive than US based labor. India and China did not "take our jobs", US companies gave them away. And, why were US companies able to offshore pretty much all manufacturing and IT jobs, one answer the elected US federal government have not been doing their jobs for the past 40 years.
