Anyone know anything about rule 24 for the BRC? They called a few guys back up here, I got a little excited because I'm the next in line. But one of them text me and said don't get too excited, it's all rule 24. From what I can tell, it is temporary work only. I assume they will work peak season then be laid in again.

Rule 24 is a way to get you back to work its not like it was in the past when a location has a 50 man roster and 10 off sick if they call back it only to fill the 10 spots called temp its also a way to call back out of seniority thank scumbag brc for that . BRC is also the same union that replaces ns carman with ttx workers also negotiated. By B.R.c.2
Yes it’s a ploy to remove names from the roster. So when they contract mechanical to progressive that means less buyouts.
If you work one month your unemployment starts over and you can find a way to get injured on the job and show them your the champion at their games. PLEASE CALL ME!
They used this at Bellevue this spring. Brought back 3 or 4 guys then got rid of them a few month later on Black Friday in October. If you haven’t found a job yet might be ok to go back while you are still looking. But no way will it be permanent.
Rule 24 is a loophole for them. They will throw you away like trash agin. My supervision told me this is a way to get a permanent position agin. I was there a few weeks just to get them out of a bind. Good luck to you.
I'm shocked anyone returned. Must be a ploy to remove names from the roster for those who failed to return.
Yep. That means you are temporary. In mechanical basically means if they cut you again you don’t get the 5 days of pay you had the first time you were cut.
