Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Curious on your thoughts

Happy holidays all....I'm curious how UP employees feel and what they think of Special Agents and UP Police.

I know everyone got hit hard and UP Police lost about 60 percent ....what would you like to see the remaining Special Agents focusing on?

Great group with a difficult job or jobs. The company dumps a lot of extra non police work on them. If the railroad was serious about employee and public safety they would hire a lot more of them.

The UP field agents are a dying breed. Unfortunately their jobs will be outsourced to contract security. Get out while you can.

Do the right thing safely, layoff the remaining officers. Contract security guards. Happy investors make money.

They are greatly needed. I cannot tell any non RR police officer to go to xx milepost or east end of yard track #, etc. Even if a non RR police officer could quickly get to a certain RR location they have no idea about railroad safety.

they are a professional police force and they are fellow employees. rail security is still an issue. many trespassers and ill doers out there.

One check some empty well cars for homeless sleeping in the end of the cars. Their making beds in the mty 5 pack well cars. Thanksgiving day too

I would like to see them focus on arresting our leadership for unnecessarily stealing the livelihoods of thousands of American workers simply to accumulate more wealth for themselves.

They probably should focus on retirement or finding another job. At the rate UP is downsizing their department, none of them will have a job in the next 1-2 years. They were spread very thin before PSR, but now it’s ridiculous how much territory they are expected to cover.
