Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

What would you do?

So here’s the deal. I got a job offer from another company. It isn’t retail. Averages $1 less an hour but my schedule would be 8-4, weekends off. There are no bonuses but they do offer company perks. My question is, should I take a job that pays less but more than makes up for it in perks or should I stay and keep looking?

If you've been at that place for longer than 10 or so years...run! Unless you are a favored one, they will sick their minions on you, so you leave. Good luck at new place. Good move!

Why are you asking a bunch of strangers what you should do with your life? You want advice, ask people who know and care about you,

Do you have a half decent 2009 or newer car? Take the new job and drive for uber on your free time whenever you feel like it and you'll make hand over fist more money

Hell yes! No job is perfect, but to have the weekend off and not a retail environment your answer should be yes

I would take it for just a dollar less for that schedule. Never going to get weekends off at Sam’s unless you are a kiss a**

Retail is a tough gig, and a slowly dying one at that. Think about your future and what you want to do. I feel as if Sam’s Club is eventually heading to a fulfillment center model to compete with the almighty Amazon. Get out while you can. Money isn’t everything. There is life after Sam’s Club. Good luck whatever you decide to do. Don’t let fear hold you back.

That dollar you lose you actually gain by not having to buy Tylenol and other medicines you have to take from working for sams. Like depression ulcers headaches and bags of ice.

Of course take the new job. You can still keep looking, if necessary. But when an opportunity comes up to get out of the Sam's Walmart world, TAKE IT! Family time/peace of mind are both worth much more than a dollar an hour less!

Write out pros and cons on a piece of paper. Also are you happy at sams? I mean 8-4 mon-fri is a nice schedule but would you be happy doing the work compared to what you are doing now
