Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Theft or errors?

Does UP steal from employees? Or are the "errors" really errors? I worked in one location for 10 year and did not have a single problem. Moved to the shop Im at now and I now have to check my calendar every other day to see how many hours I'm not going to be paid for. I've talked to other people that have had the same experience. So, how many others have to fight to be paid for hours you worked?

Steal time to make up what was stolen from you.

They will blatantly steal on occasion. A few years back I spent 8 hours in a rules class, tied up, then showed up for a midnight shift. The all day rules class was never paid because the night shift began shortly before midnight and " you cant get paid twice for the same day," timekeeping said. Made no sense but my UTU rep never got issue resolved. Theft.

It’s not stealing they’ve got to pay for all the UP hot dogs somehow. It’s a hot dog tax.
