Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

December layoff

If my last day is in December, that means I probably won’t collect severance until 2021 based on what I’m reading on these posts of how long it’s taking the company to pay it all out. That’s good for taxes purposes? Or will they speed it up before end of year?

I figured that I wouldn’t get my severance until I sent back my equipment. It’s been a few weeks and still nothing. Not going to be much of a Christmas. This is what 12 years of “exceeds expectations” gets you. I really hate this company.

Only good thing has been just taking the time to relax and regroup. Easy to do when you can’t afford to go anywhere. But the last few years of Allstate has really drained me.

Some are getting their severance within a few weeks of their final day and other receiving just before the 60 day timeframe after. No rhyme or reason how they are scheduling. And they are taxing it to death.

Based on the experience of others, you’ll receive it Dec 10 or Dec 25 depending on your religious beliefs.

No one here can tell you when you’ll receive your severance. Allstate is not meeting its estimates for severance so who knows if they’ll try to rush it before yearend.
