Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

This is the sad reality

The reality is that this company does not appreciate it's associates at all. They are taken for granted and not treated well. There is no support or help left and everyone is stressed and exhausted. The reward for being loyal and hard working is little or no raise and down the road you will be laid off so the company can save money to hire more vice presidents.

"Amazon is looking for thousands of people"

Like anyone who is stressed out working BBBY right now would want to go to another company much more publicly criticized for its awful working conditions.
I may hate a lot of my work days now, but I would never go to work for Amazon when they treat their workers like cattle, all the while Bezos can wipe with a wad of a million dollars instead of 4 squares of toilet paper.

Not only are they probably new to retail..I am guessing they are new to working. This board is full of whiny people who think they work harder then most of the world. They think they could manage a multi million dollar company with their cashier experience and high school diploma. They complain and complain but do not seem to find another job. I wonder if their bad attitude could be an issue? Amazon is looking for thousands of people..Go apply there.

"harboring a toxic work environment ..."
You must be new to retail. 😂😂😂
Every retail company I have worked with has harbored a toxic environment.
Same BS just different name tags and different color shirts. 🤡

The issue is not layoffs but the toxic culture this company hemorrhages in their work environment. Layoffs can, will, and are happening everywhere these days but harboring a toxic work environment is not. Honestly if you stick around and tolerate all the toxicity being laid off should be a relief and a sign that you should move on to someplace better.

I really would like you to answer this..it is serious..not sarcastic. Do you think people should never be laid off? They should have a job for life? It su*** to be laid off but it is not that unusual in today's world..in just about every field

Yet again more rump busters. Wake up this the world..not everything is fair. For nothing? You did get paid right? You got experience correct? Sorry but you must be very young if this is your first taste of unfairness in the workplace and the world.

I empathize with those who busted their rumps for nothing at Bloodbath and only got laid off. I see no reason to rub it in. Retail always was a loser's game but that is still no excuse to treat people unfairly and take advantage of a situation. And I don't care where it is.

I have friends and family that work part time at Target, Walmart, Starbucks and local grocery store. Everyone is stress, dislike going into work at times because of the huge workload being added. It's retail!!! The more omni always on your company is the more they want from you.
