Anyone else get the email about the Wellness Day (New Year’s Eve, “company wide holiday”) only to be told today we can take it as a floating holiday between Jan - March, as it’s kinda sorta suggested that we work on our “Wellness Day”?

I am taking the day off regardless.
I would think that federal ops (GBD) + commercial with specific requirements, and any national/group accounts with that day as ‘worked’ in the Anthem contract would need to be staffed. If you don’t fall into either, and you don’t get the day off, then that’s BS.
Our manager noted departments that are beyond metrics and are required to meet state or federal guidelines have to be meeting those guidelines. We will only get that day off if our claim aging is under a certain amount for a certain percentage of the outstanding totals.
Of course this doesn't apply to CEOs.. not like that matters, they probably already have the month off anyways, just like congress!

We weren't given a choice. We were told that we are to report to work. Period.
