Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

President’s Club-XBS ??

this post is mostly for sales staff

If anyone is paying attention.. did your XBS core do a Presidents Trip this year?

People hit plan in 2019.. the budget was set for those vacations ($3-5k per person).. COVID hits, and poof, no Presidents Club or anything. We didn’t even get a little trophy like Johnny V sent out for the CEO club.

At our core.. at least 20 people made it- so call it $60,000. That comes from the bottom line from the core. So, in a nutshell, the President of your core budgeted for this, and it didn’t happen.

Where’d the money go?

I know the problem stems from the mothership, but it’s also clear that the President of these cores, don’t fall far from the apple tree.

This 1% Thank You Holiday Bonus is a drop in bucket from how much they saved this year from furloughs, HCL and other expenses.

Is your XBS Core shelling out a bonus?

Is your XBS Core doing ANY promotions, outside what XBS is giving them?

The cherry on top.. that 1% bonus is not even being paid tomorrow. It will either be Dec 31 commission run, or Jan 1 payroll.. hopefully you were not planning on buying Christmas gifts with that!

Just remember, you are either 1 of 2 roles at Xerox.. Sales, or Sales Support. When the sales team leaves.. there will be nothing to support.

Has anyone run into Steve B on a trip? We’ve all heard stories? Anyone care to share?

Man, cyan/magenta/whoever, no. You made a sh%%ty philosophical argument and were wrong about it. You took a bad position and when called out, your defense was “actually my opinion was fact and you’re wrong.” I’m going to say that actually, you have the “alternative facts” to use your own lame ‘gotcha’ platitude. Ethics isn’t binary.

I highly encourage you to consider that not every outcome is going to be as clear cut as you believe reality to be. Maybe instead of being Cyan! And Magenta! You should be Halftone!: consider the shades of gray.

1ejz - Exactly...Ethics are Pragmatic...like facts. There are Facts and then there are Alternative Facts. Reality depends on your philosophical point of view.

I think you misunderstood my point 1kjd - I agree with you. They’ve probably done shady things. I was making the point that it’s an extremely naive point of view that our friend Magenta has - that we can only be purely ethical or unethical. Maybe that’s how it gets listed on the final HR report, but that’s not how “ethics” as a philosophy works.

No p club? If I don’t get my annual glass hardware & vigorous ego stroking where will I get my confidence?

Don’t think you have to be a student of the Black Olive to believe xerox sales has done the occasional shady thing. Is “shady” non binary enough for you?

I don’t think you have to be a student of philosophy to understand that ethics is not purely binary.

“ethically questionable things” - Incredible wealth of phrases in the xerox vernacular. In reputable organizations something is either ethical or unethical. At xerox it’s determined by the uniqueness of creative perspective and short term gain?

Sales people are and have been out of touch with xerox reality for a decade. Making your p club when others weren’t getting raises for years. It’s like xerox was a microcosm of society. The haves that proclaim they know the struggle of the little man and the have nots who get treated like dirt. AND most sales people did ethically questionable things year in and year out to get that trip. Always playing with that line.

Keep whining here about your cushy trip and see how much sympathy you get.

Oh and to you CORE people. You are XEROX. Period. If you don’t like it LEAVE.

I’m not sales but I was fortunate enough to be nominated for the presidents club trip a few years ago at my core. It was such an honor and so much fun- it’s sad to think - those were the good ole days.

I think what makes this hard to understand for a lot of people is that they think XBS and the cores are a separate entity.

They're not.

XBS was just a name given to remove the GIS name on legal documents, while in reality XBS is just as much a part of Xerox direct as everything else.

Which means those funds that were allocated for P Club no longer belong to the Cores or XBS.

They belong to Icahn and his crew, and will be used for whatever they want.
