Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

My eliminated job now posted at 2 pay bands lower.

My role and area was eliminated completely without need for assessment. Role was a B2 exempt and now the same exact job is being posted as a non-exempt band 5 with a few additional duties. Name of role is slightly different too but it is the same exact job that I lost that was said to be no longer part if the company's direction. Not at all surprising but interesting to see this right after the 60th day after our last day. This was their game plan from day one.

My title was eliminated and before those of us in that position were even out the door it was announced who would be taking on our work. Someone in a lower pay band same title and what that person didn't handle they would create a mailbox for requests to be sent to and would be worked by India. Oh an get this they wanted us to train our replacement. Knew we were in trouble when Shapiro took over.

I heard eliminating positions with no assessment was by design. Rewriting job descriptions and lowering the band/salaries has been taking place for over a year. I heard from several friends who were E” band positions, most of their jobs were “eliminated” , no assessment and heard the rewrite of the job was brought down to “D” bands. Saves on salaries and no bonus’.

This is exactly the unethical behavior that burns me with this company. Then you are forced to see that stupid good hands logo in every End zone while trying to enjoy a football game. Makes you wanna puke. Good hands my a–. To cut those positions in claims and many of the reps with 100% file quality and tenure, just to repost the jobs two levels lower is unethical behavior to the highest degree. Remember the RIF was due to your job being eliminated not to be reposted two bands lower. Just like sports you can see what poor coaching does to a team and you can see what poor leadership has done to this company in the past few years to turn it into a choking loser.

They also cut too many SIU positions, and that coupled with enough people that were either retiring, or throwing deuces, they were then understaffed. They knew this was going to be a problem at LEAST 30 days prior to 11/28. Of course, some of the roles were re-posted literally THE DAY BEFORE our final days. 2021 is going to get real interesting once ESU moves into Next Gen sometime next year. Buckle up, ladies and gentlemen, it's going to be a bumpy ride!
