Thanks for the heads up! Got my severance pay stub in the mail Monday and hot my account today. Was waiting until it posted to say anything but my taxes for federal was higher than what was broken down here from HR and my 5 percent 401k deductions did come out of my severance. I am seeing on prior posts that it should not have so I will be appealing to corporate for my additional 5% and maybe some compensation for their mistakes.

I have not received my severance yet. I am about ready to get my attorney involved and put some heat under their asses. Allstate drags things out so long and my savings now is almost gone. I hope Eric and Glen are happy with putting loyal employees in a bad position at the holiday and take their bonus and shove it. Get me my damn severance money you hungry b–tards.

It is the actual breakdown , so about 30% for federal , but it also depends on what your state taxes which is why everyone’s severance tax is different

Whoever quoted the AskHR percentage breakdown, that's the amount my previous Esurance year end bonuses were taxed at. Will be curious if that's the actual breakdown, as there are posts about taxes being 40-42%. I wonder if those were people that reside in states that have state income tax as well.

I called AskHR for tax information on severance

Federal taxes are 22%
Social security taxes is at 6.2%
Medicare is taxed at 1.45%
Plus any state taxes , but they do not have those percentages

How can you tell if they took out 401k if we can’t see our pay stub? Is it available anywhere on allstategoodlife?

Did they take out 401k? AskHR specifically told me the other day that they weren't taking that out. Of note, it seems like those who bank with a credit union received their PTO payout a day earlier than those of us that bank with a bigger financial institution. One of my direct reports didn't receive their PTO payout until the week after the most of us had received it. Who knows?

Mine posted today too. Now that they have no leverage with me, it’s time to move forward with my whistle blower complaint to the DOI’s...

Yes, I got mine today too...but taxed more than what HR originally told me.

Same here. It was taxed at 36% even though my federal exemptions are at 6 and I turned 401k contributions off. Wtf.
