Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Jan annoumcememts

So our Regional meeting was postposed from Jan To Feb, so all the correct regional/divisional people would be attending to learn the 2021 strategy.
This means one of two things: either they are adding additional positions on the regional or divisional level, or are cutting positions. Anyone on here with real knowledge?

Can’t wait to see what the fourth quarter earnings report looks like. One of the stores I frequent is a top 200 door so probably safe and also decent mall. Who knows anymore expect the unexpected.

They are waiting for inventory results similar to last few years. Last 2 February’s have been terrible with layoffs and District Offices closing this year. Not sure what to expect even in busier market like NJ.

In the past cuts are usually announced the first and second weeks of February. Expect many store closures, elimination of upper management positions.
