This place is filled with lousy managers who hide their incompetence by intimidating everybody around them. They have no experience and have no idea what they're doing, so the only thing they can do is yell and threaten those of us who are actually doing the work. Employee morale is hitting rock bottom due to this. If something doesn't change, there will be a mass exodus of employees as soon as the economy improves.

I agree lousy managers who hide their incompetence by intimidating everybody around them, they just "yes" people otherwise they get rid of you. Don't sign the severence agreement, talk to a lawyer.
Age discrimination is against the law! BD knows how to configure the list and work the percentages by adding some under age 50 employees they need to offset all of the the over 50 employees they terminate. Also they will not promote you and instead there is rampant nepotism and promoting of friends who will advance regardless if they deserve it. Management and executive level culture comes off antiquated, top heavy, out dated, greed is good 80's old boys club style. In no way a good place to work if you're over 50 and your efforts to do an excellent job is irrelevant. They want you out and will do whatever it takes. How does BD make lives better when they hide age discrimination and fire their over 50 employees and blame covid?
I honestly don't know a single manager like this, so I looked up the reviews at GlassDoor, and it surely isn't the top, but it could be a lot worse. Most people seem to like the people they work with. It's a pretty big generalization, "managers". People are just people, and I'm guessing it probably says more about how you view others than how they treat you. Some people see the best in others even in terrible situations, and others see toxicity, and people do tend to project themselves on other people.
I hope you're right but this has been going on for at least for more a long time and I have yet to see a mass exodus and they continue to recruit great young talent that stay. Some see it and they feel the heavy negative moral from longterm employees that have been beat down when trying to advance while the same people get the power positions. It is a sick culture that has gotten worse. It went from a company that made the best place to work list to falling off after years of Vince's rayne. But hey the stock price is up so...
