On Jan 26 2021, The Bay Calgary announced its first lay offs of full-time employees. The lay-offs included both senior and new employees across departments. The staff had knew that lay-offs were coming as their management had shown extreme signs lack of attention to employee relationship.

This doesn’t surprise me at all as most their management members played a a big role in creating a hostile, degrading, humiliating working environment. I had few friends that shared their horrible working experience at The Bay and appalled me. Many of their staff were intimidated to bring it to their Human Resources due to potential retribution.
It is therefore, I have stopped shopping at the Bay for over a year.
