Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Time for good old legacy Pan Canadian People to Retire

There are to many legacy employees and leaders of the good old pan Canadian days, time to retire.. to many leaders that are taking on more then they can chew.. it’s time for them to retire.. maybe the March layoffs will prove otherwise.. seem too many mid career and early career individuals have disappear..

Are there really many PanCan leaders left who are not on their way out the door imminently?

The old CVE IT management are horrible. Low domain knowledge . CIO that shakes hands and hugs babies. Two directors/managers hired because they needed female quota. Architect lead and security at best academic. Im sure a 10 year old from Eastern Europe is hacking them now. Be friends in that group and its ok to be incompetent.

Remember useless IT could not get SAP installed so they bought Husky to say they installed SAP. How long does it take old CVE IT to put in place basic desktop that is in this decade.

FosterCreek was AEC and ChristinaLake was PanCanadian. Two sites never did work well together, was always animosity between the two. AEC was definitely the controlling influence.

FC was bigger but was/is an old boys club, cousins, wives, kids... you never have any idea who is related to who. Not a terribly ethical place to work. They hated CL, thought CL was just a gold plated facility.

CL was the bullied little brother, but was a better facility and run by better people, until FC had their way with them. Now its just a big mess. Wouldn't want to be either place.

Who is Pan canadian?

You mean PanCanadian. PCP.

History tells you PCP management and leaders are not the problem. When EnCcana was formed, PCP management was squeezed out to let Gywn Morgan and Ersman from AEC run Encana. Ersman presides over the split of one of the great Canadian energy companies, to spinoff CVE.

Ferguson, another AEC manager, is put in charge of CVE. We all know how well that worked out....

Legacy PCP employees are not the problem. How many are left? How many are in management? If they want to retire let them go. At least they aren't trying to hold on to get fat retention bonuses.

Legacy AEC managers and VP's are the problem. Yes, the father of Foster Creek must go. Then, we can talk about the old boys club and its dismantling. Then the young boys club....

I'm legacy PanCanadian and I would have loved to have a retirement package. If we could have signed up to be put on "the list" I'm sure some of us would have.
