Is your location home shopping cars because they have laid everyone off and claim they can't handle the work? What they really want is to train you to not bad order because you believe they will just home shop them anyway. Fall for this and more furloughs will come. Take it from a disgruntled GF.

Shop everything that needs to be shopped. Don't be the guy who someone gets k–led because you were scared to shop it .
High seniority? Heck if I inspect a train and pass a car that has a defect and cannot walk off without knowing it could cause a delay, an injury, or derailment I put a tag right on it. Always have and always will. Do see and know of some who have helped the company by letting everything run when it shouldn't. I even have argued the point with them until I just don't give c-ap anymore. Never the less I will continue doing the job I was trained to do many years ago and follow the advice of an older man who said, " if you get ran off make sure it was because you were doing your job,and not for failing to do it "!
Couldnt agree more, but high seniority people do it to keep the heat off themselves, thinking they'll always have a job. That being said, more layoffs will come regardless.
