100' of higher level, older, long time core business services employees were laid off effective today. Many of us are over 50 and had 25+ years of service with retirement in our sights. Just horrible, after being told in December lay offs were over and the ENTIRE US Firm receiving salary increases on January 1, 2021...WTH???

This might be why you got the axe. Forbes top employers ranking is based on advertising/consulting services bought from Forbes. It has nothing to do with being a great company.
Yes it is true :( EY did the same thing last year, laid off older people who were about to retire. No more EY is the best company to work for :(
No surprise there. They've been trying to cut cost to boost salaries for years. As long as they keep inflating the salaires of their global leadership expect this trend to continue until you're left with completely outsourced IT.
