Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Costco vs. Truist

Costco: Crazy company with a crazy notion that happy/well paid employees equal good customer service, less turnover, and less need to keep training. This in turn leads to happy customers who show brand loyalty. That in turn leads to happy shareholders.

Truist: Let’s do all that we can to screw employees over, close branches, develop “synergies”, don’t upgrade systems to state of the art ones able to compete with Silicone Valley (just pick the best old ones) regrade jobs but make sure no pay increases. This will ensure that employees, sorry teammates, quit just to save 1.6 billion. Oh yeah and let’s spend 2 billion to prop up the stock price so that we can sell sell sell our shares at the maximum price. Yeah!

Chauvinism is alive and well at Truist. This female saw the writing on the wall and got out. I think it does vary by manager but I definitely had a manager who was uncomfortable around females (openly discussed) and only promoted men. And of course he got a huge promotion with the merger despite being grossly incompetent.

This is a great analogy of the situation. A culture that thrives on arrogance, bullying, shaming, narcissism and chauvinism. Yes they have a few women and minorities in place, but they expect them to stay in their place. If you attempt to point out a better way you are perceived as negative and put in your place.
