Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Demotion at Centene for this Legacy Wellcare Care Coordinator!

I work as a care coordinator and do outbound calls to members. I took the job because when I was hired I would just do outbound calls. I work for legacy Wellcare and now they are give the outbound call responsibility to Centene care coordinators while I am now stuck doing solely inbound calls which I was never hired for. This is an internal demotion as I feel like I am working in a call center getting back to back calls within seconds. When I asked my supervisor why I was "demoted" and now in call center she said it would be for a few days. Then I hear it will be 4 to 6 weeks. I suspect the leadership team already knows about this and I have my suspicion that I will be permanent on inbound calls. The point is that the whole Care Management leadership team treating all the employees in the department like sh*t and they could care less.

The supervisors in the meantime don't help out in anything. These care coordinator supervisors are worthless in my opinion. They laugh and insult there employees and don't help out in anything inbound or outbound when outbound was available. There too busy making trivia games, going on you tube, taking 2 hour lunch breaks and taking extended breaks to care about anyone but themselves. These supervisors are snobbish and think they are above the rest of us. These supervisors are a burden to Centene and i just wish they would go. Unfortunately in this round of layoffs they let the hard workers go and kept several goof off supervisors who just care about taking as much company time as they can and getting away with it.

AMEN to the original poster. I have to agree all Legacy Wellcare CARE MANAGEMENT supervisors don't do sh*t! Just this Friday they were playing BINGO over skype! Yes this is no joke! Shame on Wendy Faust, Vice President Medical Management for letting this happen ...and frankly letting this happen for at least the last 2 to 3 years. The lazyness of there supervisors is absolutely atrocious.

Having been part of this layoff, and older, with great experience I would still not take some pittance of a position with this greedy company at lower pay. I need a job, but not at the expense of selling my soul for it. I feel bad for the department, minus the management, as there is now a deep void to fill and nobody to fill it.

Personally, I know two of the employees who were provided an option to take a lower level position with less pay.
It's a ploy of offering help as Company will save on severance plus they kept an experienced employee for less pay. However, it's still a win from employee perspective if they really need to have a paycheck coming based on their circumstances

Sounds like the HR team is hard at work being oblivious, as always, helping leadership play the favoritism game. Just like they are with UM. Good luck to the original poster - I hope you find a company that deserves you.
