Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

How many?

It just hit me today that a lot of talented people in my LoB have left the company within the last year. I realize that many of them had the knowledge and experience that is needed but is now lost to the company for good. How many more need to go before the company realizes this should not be happening?

@2asx - guess you are referring to hBBT Teller app and the person BB.

Yes, they are gone long back and the rest are being used/trained to deploy on hSTI Teller app.. one hBBT analyst left by their own will as they couldn’t tolerate the nonsense of the transition.

All the good talent is gone. I tried looking for an individual who helped me all the time with the teller system. When I used IG01, the name wasn't there, come to find out he had been RIFd over a year ago. No one in his department knew the answer I needed help with, even his bosses had no idea. Sad, how many people have been RIFd that we don't know about. You can't replace this type of knowledge nor employee.

You can’t trust anyone. HR had a significant layoff last year and the Head of Executive Recruiting had layoff’s on her team so she could hire back an employee who left her team 10mos prior who was unemployed from the company he left Truist for. If HR is capable of making unethical moves like this I can only imagine what other departments are doing with their headcount. Canceling job reqs so she can change the minimum requirements and lowering years of experience so she can hire who she wants. Unfortunately we still have some heritage leaders here they should have flushed out when they had a chance. When you start seeing things like this in HR it’s usually a sign of more systemic issues across the company.

I still don’t understand how BB&T supposedly contributed 57% toward this merger and yet somehow most of all the key BB&T leaders are gone or are in reduced roles.

The merger would have been far from perfect but if more of BB&T management was still around I don’t think it would have been as bad as it’s been.

I wrestle all the time with whether to leave or not. When I get my AIP payout I’m usually less inclined to start looking but then that wears off and I’m back to thinking I’d be better off somewhere else. It’s a vicious cycle.

You think they care, they don’t! Every person gone is a cost savings. SunTruist loves it even more when they leave on their own.
