Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Why are there fewer and fewer of those who are dedicated?

Everyone dreams of an ideal company, but that is an utopia. There is no such thing. There are only your priorities.

What is really sad, and what I notice, is that everyone at Nike is there now mostly just for the sake of paycheck. It wasn't that way before.

In the past, everyone was much more dedicated to this company. I’m not sure why that is but there are certainly many reasons.

There aren't any incentives to work hard. The CFE process is a joke and everyone knows that you get the same raise & PSP regardless of your rating. Not much reason to give anything extra when half your co-workers are just coasting along and getting a successful rating, yet the same raise and bonus as those rated highly successful.

The good ones know their value and leave when they’ve had enough BS. Over time, the ones that remain either are ok and just don’t care or incompetent but kisses a$$.

I earn my paycheck and I am dedicated but that is because of my strong ethics and my personal code. I do not need anyone to tell me how good or how dedicated I am. I will never just skate by, if you do, then I do not know how you sleep at night.

You get out what you put in. If it's clear that Nike leadership don't value their workers then their workers will respond in kind. Your "good" workers will eventually get frustrated and take their talent elsewhere while the rest will become totally checked out and just do enough to not get fired. This is what poor leadership and a bad company culture does.
