Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

OPC as first class citizen

Does anyone knows whether OPC as a first class citizen is actually implemented. Many good people at OPC are let go, so not sure how OCI engineers are handling OPC.

Agreed. Gen 1 OPC offers “me too” performance with horrific reliability and service availability.

And the people that built it / ran it would then make up metrics to make things look better than they really were.

If that’s your definition of first class, then perhaps we see things differently.

"first class citizen" before customers sign contract, then they are screwed.

the OPC services that I'm familiar with are collectively a POS, so not "first class" IMO. If the engineers responsible for those abominations have left the company then as far as I'm concerned good riddance!

Your question isn’t clear, at least not to me.

Treated as a “first class citizen” by who? By customers? Treated as first class within Oracle itself?
