Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Essential + underpaid + flight risk

For years I didn’t understand the way Citrix gives RSU.

RSUs are given to those seen as essential employees but flight risks. Or those that are a really good value (underpaid) and flight risk. I believe..

Still, it seems to me that this is exactly the logic. Is there anyone else who shares their opinion with the poster who wrote this in another thread?

That’s just a fancy way of saying: RSUs are a reward for good performance.

If you outperform you’re eligible to get paid more. If you’re performing at the level of your salary, your salary suffices. If you’re over-performing your salary then you’re obviously underpaid, and you’ll be a flight risk since you’ll be looking for a job that pays proportionately. So they reward you with RSUs. And it’s an incentive for you to stick around since they payout over time. It’s a win for the company and benefits any company more than spot bonuses for this reason. RSUs bring your total compensation more in-line with your worth.

Never thought of it that way but it makes sense.
