Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Is it easier to find a job if you have a job?

Everyone says it’s easier to find a new job if you already have one. I have been trying for months to find an alternative for myself and I have not yet been able to find any decent job.
Moreover, I have a feeling that it would be easier for me to find a job if I didn’t have one because after work I am so tired that I can’t fully dedicate myself to job hunting.

The above two replies are correct. I found a job quickly. I was management did have to tweak and change expectations a bit but nothing crazy. Stay strong

Previous poster makes good points. I would add another. If you are laid off because the store closed then tell the prospective employer "The Store Closed." Do not say you were laid off. You will get much more empathy from the prospective employer when you say "The Store Closed." Laid off can be vague and encompass many reasons but "The Store Closed" is permanent and completely out of your control. Good luck.

Stay until you find another job. It looks MUCH better to be employed when looking ..i(f you are laid off thats different as it was not your choice) Maybe take a short break from job hunting . Also consider having someone look at your resume to maybe give you some pointers. Do a couple mock interviews. Hang in there!
