Oracle Hardware Revenue Continues its Slow Death

Down AGAIN year over year as the death spiral continues. The revenue DECREASE is even WORSE than last quarter!

Customers know this, they bail out and others will get cold feet and follow suit.

It's me >who was the one who showed that the recent stock price increase was all down to HW sales. — Lacks any ability for critical thought

It's me who was the one who showed that the recent stock price increase was all down to HW sales. See how the stock price tumbled today due to the other parts of the business? Don't ever doubt me bla bla bla.

LOL, good one!

As an oracle Employee did you know that mental health professionals are available to you free of charge if you just call EAP?

Will pray for your quick recovery.

About putting 'lipstick on a pig', what a totally silly thing to say. Customers wouldn't buy HW that was covered in markings from cosmetics.

ORCL has made $31b now in profit since buying JAVA and that doesn't include the $3b in cash that JAVA had on the books. For the last 10 years your pay raises, RSUs and bonus are all down to the ca$h cow profit from HW

No biggie. Just keep firing a proportionate number of loozer hardware employees every quarter.

Why don't you masters of the obvious go tell them how their CD revenues have not gone up in the last decade?

Because they aren’t desperately trying to put lipstick on the pig.

GOOG and AMZN both manufacture hundreds of thousands of servers per year...but don't sell them. Why don't you go cry the sky is falling for those 2 companies and tell them their external server HW revenues are tiny/nonexistent? ORCL has been transitioning for 8 years to making servers for OCI datacenters, and while not abruptly abandoning big Oracle customers in OnPrem datacenters, gradually transitioning those customers into OCI. Low margin HW (when sold to external customers) is being channeled into high margin OCI Cloud Services with predictable (and growing) recurring revenues. Hey Netflix used to sell CDs. Why don't you masters of the obvious go tell them how their CD revenues have not gone up in the last decade?

Were is the article about the premier salesman who said you can't put lipstick on this pig, in reference to Sun/Solaris/Sparc ?
But they got out the paint bucket and splashed it on hard, remember the posters at the airports?
And the last gasp of the T5.

Oracle's been trying to get out of hardware for ten years. Everyone who's anyone has already been let go, and they've been trying to shift people to Fuji et al, except there's no knowledge for them to do anything either. The only reason Oracle is still in hardware at all is because Larry made guarantees 25 years out into the future back in the day, and forever support is part of Sun's brand. You can still run SunOS binaries from 1993 on modern hardware.

Where’s that cretin who was spraying about HW sales being up (just 10 days ago)?!? ....who was saying that was the reason for the stock jump?? And then there were the other HW apologists who keep saying HW isn’t in decline, and that it’s such a great business, blah blah blah blah.

Desperate and pathetic.

So why HAVEN'T the executives made the decision to jettison HW?

Because it is part of the strategy to move them off our own hardware and onto our own cloud services. Make no mistake, this doesn’t protect the hardware org - it only prolongs it’s inevitable death.

LE would have to admit buying Sun was a mistake, and LE doesn't make mistakes.

Is it time to finally take hardware off life support? To take out the trash? To double flush?
